I've been incredibly fortunate in my short years here on the pale blue dot.  It has been an exhaustive and wild journey.  I was born and raised in Indiana, went to Purdue University for undergraduate, and lived there my first 23 years of life.  After graduation I went immediately to work in the fracking fields of Colorado.  I quit in 6 months, worked minimum wage jobs in Indiana to get by, and was finally hired by a chemical company in New Jersey.  During my time there, I took many trips into New York City and enjoyed the endless sights and experiences there.  After 18 months, I was accepted to Arizona State University and thus began my trek westward again.  I met my wife during my first day on campus and since moving here I've gotten married, spent a summer in Florida working for NASA, and traveled to Paris and Rome.

One aspect of Arizona that I love is the desert environment.  I cannot get enough of the mountains, the cactii, the hiking paths into a largely untouched nature found nowhere else.  Of course the year-round sunshine is always a bonus too.  I love mud run obstacle course and have done Spartan Sprints, Rugged Maniacs, and Warrior Dashes.  I've never worked up to the Tough Mudder but maybe one day!  If you're visiting Phoenix for a conference or vacation, shoot me an email and I'm more than happy to give some hiking and climbing recommendations.
